-Development would cause traffic problems as there is already heavy congestion on School Lane at school drop-off and pick-up times.
-Sewage system is barely adequate to cope with demand.

-Support the council's proposal of Option 1 as it maintains the present views of the church and does not increase the village envelope or bring coalescence with Sydenham.

-The houses should be built on Site 1 as you can see how densely populated the rest of the village is compared to Site 1. They would be able to be accommodated easier.

Representation Summary:

-It incorporates land inside the village.
-It incorporates the church into the village.
-Provides ease of access to main road and access to bus stops.
-It is set back from the main road, making it safer for children and pets.
-Ease of facilities to cross main road.
-It would keep the village separate from Sydenham.
-It is an already controlled traffic area.
-Provide better outlook than on main road as it is set back and has views of the church.
-Balances village out better.

-Object to development on the preferred option at Radford Semele.
-The whole ethos and character of the village will be destroyed.
-There will be problems with drainage.
-Concerned about the increased traffic on the A425, but wherever the development is this is inevitable (Extra from Gayden development will impose).

Representation Summary:

-The village desperately needs affordable housing so that young people can stay in the area if they choose to. This will keep our village vibrant and ensure that local facilities continue to be supported.
-The school is wonderful and it would be great to see more village children attending.
-There are many lovely rural walks around the village and I do not feel the proposed sign is going to blight the rural outlook.
-Locally and nationally there is a desperate shortage of homes and I feel this site would be well suited for the development of our local community.

Representation Summary:

-WDC document says up to 100 homes will be developed but Gladman's leaflet proposed up to 130 homes so can assume that they intend to pack as many in as possible.
-130 homes = approximately 400-500 homes which would put pressure on many village services.
-The school is virtually at capacity and cannot be enlarged.
-Additional traffic will be created at the school, shop and post office on narrow lanes which are already too busy.
-130 homes = 250 additional cars trying to use Southam Road at peak times and accidents have occurred.

-There are many people who would benefit from increased housing in the village, especially affordable housing.
-This site appears the most logical locations, other sites, particularly Site 4 would have a much more detrimental effect on the village.

Representation Summary:

-Radford Semele is subject to flooding.
-The outlet from the site would be onto the existing Southam Road that can already be a bottle-neck, and increased traffic would produce huge problems.
-All of the roads in Radford Semele are cul-de-sacs, with all having to get out of the village via the Southam Road. None of these roads are built to take volumes of traffic which the village now experiences, particularly School Lane, which could be affected through another exit road on to Southam Road.

Representation Summary:

-Radfford Semele is a pretty location with large amounts of land.
-Younger generations will prefer this location.
-More houses are needed to blend in with other side of village as it feels cut off due to less houses on East side.
-New shops are needed and post office is dated and old fashioned.
-There is already a crossing on the main road so easy access for school children to walk to school and parents do not need to use cars as it is within walking distance.

Representation Summary:

-It is a perfect location out of all the sites considered.
-The area is a large piece of land, only half of the land is used for housing and the other half as 'poppy field' next to the church.
-During summer times, the new home owners and local dog walkers would still enjoy the view of a beautiful coutryside and nice houses next to our church.
-It will be lovely and a great idea.

Representation Summary:

-Traffic density on the Southam Road is very high, even with traffic calming measures in place; it would not alleviate the problem.
-The size and settings is of historic interest which would be marred by this development.
-High density housing in this location is totally inappropriate.
-Having personally experienced damage to property due to flooding, further development in this area would make matters worse.

-Access to this development will affect traffic volume/congestions.

-Offchurch Lane will become even more hazardous.

Representation Summary:

-Traffic congestion on Southam Road and School Lane. The road would be so busy that using the pathways into Leamington would be unpleasant.
-Too many children in the village school.
-There would be a division with the houses from across the main road, they would be considered separate.

Representation Summary:

-Traffic access to and from the development would have to be the area opposite the bottom of School Lane onto Southam Road. This area of the road with a bend and a junction at each end of the visible section and a busy junction (School Lane) is already potentially dangerous at the best of times, often with children having to cross at this point. An additional junction with additional traffic would only make this main road through the village more hazardous.

Representation Summary:

-The Gladman's site retains all the same characteristics firmly rejected by the Council as part of its own detailed planning analysis, except for the fact that the traffic has almost doubled since the nineties.
-Offchurch Lane is already gridlocked and to exit our drive we are dependent on the good nature of queuing motorist to let us out. This situation will undoubtedly get worse should the proposed housing increases in Southam and surrounding district.
-Building on the site would make the access through the village totally impossible.

Representation Summary:

-According to WDC, Ceder Farm is some distance from the main village with no supporting facilities and is not perceived to be a sustainable approach to delivering housing.
-It is strange that not more than a few hundred yards away is WDC's proposed traveller's site. Strange how the 'supporting a sustainable approach to delivering housing' can change from one side of the A425 to the other.
