Representation Summary:

Take notice of the area of restraint. Still same criteria: Good farmland, steep land , no roads to access safely, no school places, too much traffic coming throught into Whitnash. Roads very narrow and choked at school times. Too many strangers.

Representation Summary:

I strongly object to the proposed development to build over 4000 houses between Bishops Tachbrook and Warwick Gates.

It is a loss of another green space and wildlife habitat.

Roads have steadily become busier over the years with each new development.

I understand that the air quality is already below EU standards and the increase in traffic is detrimental to peoples' health.

It will create extra demand for school places in both Whitnash and Bishopts Tachbrook.

Increase in flood risk and pressure on the sewerage facilities.

Representation Summary:

The extreme traffic congestion in this area does not allow for further pressure on the road system. Commuting anywhere particularly at peak times is already a major problem. Further traffic will only create more congestion and air pollution.

The present infrastructure cannot cope with the present situation i.e. health and school facilitiesm the waiting times and parking problems at Warwick Hospital are grossly overstretched.

We face onto a small woodland area which contains rare trees and lots of wildlife which should not be disturbed.

Representation Summary:

I do not accept that the area to the South of Harbury Lane should shoulder a large proportion of the growth needed. Surely the growth can be spread around.

The impact of approximately 4000 extra families using the current facilities for medical, educational, traffic and sewage is surely unsustainable.

Representation Summary:

The traffic problems and infrastructure in terms of schools, healthcare and sewerage could not cope with the increase in homes.

The village will be spoilt. There are more suitable sites at Coventry and Ryton.

This is a large Greenfield site that should not be developed. Other previously developed sites in more sustainable locations close to Leamington Town Centre should be given preference in favour of these type of sites which result in urban sprawl into the countryside

Representation Summary:

Object to the development which will overload existing struggling infrastructure. The construction of 2500 houses will lead to destruction of Tachbrook Valley, loss of countryside, overcrowded services and overburdened infrastructure. Loss of character and distinctiveness of area.

Support the need for more housing but only in sustainable location which protect the greenbelt

Would to see housing growth dispersed through villages and brownfield land sites

We wish to express our shock and amazement at the proposal to build thousands of houses in the vicinity of Bishops Tachbrook.

The local amenity infrastructure simply would not be able to cope with the influx of such a huge number of people and their cars, let alone the additional burden on support services such as schools, sewerage, bus services, and health care.

There is the risk of environmental damage to the stream and wildlife if it is built up to.

Roads are currently used to capacity.

Why has a traffic survey not been carried out, traffic over the main bridges and routes are full to capacity.

The development would be highly visible.

Services due to no infrastructure will be adversely affected.

Massive impact on environment and air quality.

Respondent: Judith Burdon

Representation Summary:

Object to proposed housing development due to lack of infrastructure in recent housing developments (Warwick Gates). Particularly schooling, which has resulted in children travelling across Warwick at peak times to attend school.

Traffic will worsen if development goes ahead making it more difficult, if forced to take children to a school several miles from their home.

There is insufficient jobs in the district to support the proposed housing development.

jects to the large amount of housing which would have a detrimental impact on the existing infrastructure.
Concerns about the lack of infrastructure in an area which the existing services/ infrastructure are already stretched to full capacity.
Proposed housing option at land to the south of Harbury Lane would destroys the existing character of Bishops Tachbrook - Other options exist - brown field sites should be used first and future student accommodation at warwick University. Save the green field sites. More practical to build south of Coventry where there is existing infrastructre.

Representation Summary:

Objects to proposed building of houses south of Warwick, Whitnash and Leamington. It is already difficult for children to get places at the local primary school. It will increase traffic in the village and overload sewerage systems and water supplies. Should find ways of using existing empty properties and other sites with more infrastructure.

Respondent: Mr J.C. Marlow

Representation Summary:

Proposal to build homes between Tachbrook and Leamington is a kick in the teeth for residents. It will increase light pollution making stars less visible. I chose to live in a village not a light polluted urban jungle. Once the green belt is lost it will be lost forever. Proposal will increase antisocial behaviour as young people will move ever closer to the village.
Brownfield sites should be used or smaller areas of land to the north and east of Leamington.
If this development goes ahead it will be difficult to sell properties and house prices will go down.

Representation Summary:

We support the suggested option as it would provide housing in an area best able to accommodate new development, without encroaching on the Green Belt. It also compliments the preferred Employment locations as well as being one of the best placed options for commuters.
The proposed area of restraint should be north of the Tachbrook only, to reduce the effects on wildlife.

Representation Summary:

We are writing to onject to the land to the south of Harbury Lane should be designated as housing.

We have not seen any evidence of who the homes are for or who has asked to come and live in Warwickshire but do not consider this to be the correct location for any of the proposed new housing.

Given past housing developments, we are concerned that infrastructure for south of Harbury Lane will not be put in place.

Received: 18/08/2009

Respondent: Mr G A Cox

Representation Summary:

Strongly objects to the proposals to concentrate new development to the south of Warwick, Leamington and Whitnash.
No provision has been made for the increased volume of traffic entering Leamington and Warwick through already congested river bridges or the impact on surrounding areas such as Bishop's Tachbrook.
Pollution levels in Leamington are bound to rise due to increased traffic.
Land at Finham which has good access via the A46 and was preferred by local people has been conceded to Coventry City Council.
The area of restraint between Bishop's Tachbrook and Leamington will be considerably reduced in contravention of the vision 'to protect individual characteristics and identities of villages'

Increase in traffic.

Worsen air quality due traffic, great potential for flooding.

Lack of existing infrastructure, new infrastructure may not be sufficient given past examples.

Lost of green space - Bishops tachbrook is very close to Warwick Gates already.

Harbury Lane south development will be very visible. Loss of key part of residents' environment and associated quality of life.

This will have a detrimental effect on Bishops Tachbrook.
Traffic will increase, and will become more dangerous, leading to more air pollution and noise.
Local schools will be overcrowded.

Local healthcare will become oversubscribed.

Not seen the proposed local infrastructure to support the amount of new homes.

Objects to proposed housing south of Harbury Lane and in any area around Bishop's Tachbrook. There is already too much traffic in Leamington and anymore would put more lives in danger and create further gridlock and increase ran runs through Bishops Tachbrook.
Until recently we had a poor water supply - increased population would put added pressure on the sewerage system and water supply.

Representation Summary:

My principle objection to the proposal is the sheer scale of development on the land at Lower Heathcote Farm, south of Harbury lane and the adjacent area of land west of Europa Way.

Little consideration has been given to infrastructure for such vast amounts of housing. There are already difficulties placed on public service due to existing population and growth.

This will harm the quality of life for a large propotion of the exisiting district.
