Village Housing Options and Settlement Boundaries

Representation ID: 60887

Received: 16/01/2014

Respondent: National Federation of Gypsy Liaison Groups

Representation Summary:

Although the Council's policies acknowledge the need to provide for the accommodation needs of Gypsies and Travellers, and some of that provision will necessarily be on the edge of villages, there is no such provision or acknowledgement of this need in the policies set out in this document.

Respondent: Mr Peter Stanworth

Representation Summary:

-It is a technical document and difficult to understand without an overall background, for example the development strategy is not explained. There is no glossary defining terms.

-Why is there a need to build extra housing? Is this an obligation placed on the councils by the government? Is there a financial incentive to the Council? I have not been able to find answers to these questions in the document.

Respondent: Mrs Caroline Southall

Representation Summary:

The local plan, albeit already revised, is based on a substantial amount of evidence that is at least 5 years out of date. The plan for between 10,800- 12,300 houses is unsustainable for Warwick District and the data is questionable. The proposed destruction of Green Belt is contrary to existing legislation and also within terms of NPPF. The draft infrastructure plan needs considerably more evidence as the impact on the transport, health services, emergency services, education facilities etc. Ongoing austerity cuts will also have an impact on need.

The plan for between 10,800- 12,300 houses is unsustainable for Warwick District and the data is questionable. The proposed destruction of Green Belt is contrary to existing legislation and also within terms of NPPF. The draft infrastructure plan needs considerably more evidence as the impact on the transport, health services, emergency services, education facilities and general amenities will be irrevocably changed to the detriment of the area. Future technology will mean that people will be working for home and therefore the number of employees forecasted may not need to move to Warwick. No allowance has been made in this plan for the austerity cuts planned by Central Government and stated as being ongoing.

Respondent: Miss katie bould

Representation Summary:

i would like to advise that many people within the village are not aware of this project and whilst 6 weeks may be longer than normal, i feel it should of been longer or awareness increased within that timeframe. Particularly, many of my elderly neighbours are not aware of it and whilst you may of posted something once, i don't feel is enough.

Respondent: Mrs Suzanne Stannard

Representation Summary:

Inadequate time has been allowed for this consultation period. As residents of Cotton Mill Spinney, who would immediately face the proposed new development in Cubbington, we were not told at any point of these proposals. We only heard of this today (20th Jan) because one of our neighbours had been told and happened to mention it. Failure to inform those affected in an appropriate and timely fashion does not consitute an adequate process for consultation and does not allow those concerned to properly consider the plans and implications and to frame a full and considered objection if necessary.
