There has been a lack of will to protect the historic environment from encroachment by poor quality development to date.
the setting of buildings and their place in the landscape- urban and rural- has a huge impact on the character of our local historic towns. This in turn enhances or damages our quality of life and the economy.
Better use of sequential testing on developers keen to make money by encroaching or demolishing historic environment.
And using existing powers to compulsory purchase endangered listed building and rotting empty properties

Access to our historic sites, Warwick Castle, Pump Rooms etc - already constrained by problems of parking access etc. Perhaps Warwick Racecourse could be better utilised as well!
