Representation Summary:

The need to reduce carbon footprints with more locally grown produce. Increasing fuel costs will cause foreign imports to become increasingly expensive.
I also live in Princes Drive, we have traffic jams 3 times a day. The proposed large extra housing and traffic will cause greater congestion and loss of productivity and greater pollution.

The traffic flow in Birches Lane is already too high. If access to the Leamington Spa is not approved from this development then all the extra traffic will be added to Birches Lane.

Suggestions for the type of employment we should encourage included, high technology industries, service sector jobs, tourism, biotechnology and professional and financial/business services.

There is already enough available land for the above industries. The Ford foundary closed - so the thought of providing land for factories or light industry does not reflect the current situation.
Use up the land you have before assigning any more. I don't believe you should assign ANY MORE large chunks of land. Please inform your advisers that we have moved on since the industrial revolution.

Thank you for this questionnaire. As I have no information I cannot fill it. However, I think
a) the Thickthorn aree is too confined between the bypass and Glasshouse Lane to be built on, and
b) the impact on Roads/Schools/Shops (with many closing) local jobs (probably none) would be disastrous.
From a clean air/health point of view we must maintain Open Belt areas.
If houses have to be built, is there not an area behind La Reine Gardens available (thereby havinig land between Kenilworth and Coventry)

Representation Summary:

This is important green belt land seperating the town from the A46. Road access at the southern part of Kenilwoth is already congested at times and employment in the area would worsen this. Development of this land conflicts directly with the strategic objective on page 75 of the document. The historic tree preservation order covring the area signifies the importance of the trees in the area. This land is ideally suited to be developed into parkland.

Representation Summary:

Due to shortage of employment to the north of the district areas need to be allocated to the Kenilworth, North of Leamington and Warwick areas. These areas have relatively good access to the A46, A45/M45 and the M40. This would maximise use of existing infrastructure & mean less traffic having to go through Leamington & Warwick centres

No should be Kenilworth, Finham, Baginton Airport, North of Leamington/Warwick areas. This would reduce traffic in town centres and provide good access traffic from/to the A46, A45/M45 and the M40. There are already large areas of employment to the south of the district

land at Thickthorn would not be conducive to industrial sites, use existing sites in Kenilworthm there are two or three buidlings half empty in the main Warwick Road suitable for offices!!

Representation Summary:

Thickthorn introduces the visitor to Kenilworth. It is a pleasant experience that will be immediately destroyed if houses or small factories appear here and Kenilworth will share the fate of many English towns where a drive into the town has all the interest of a drive through an industrial estate.

This green and pleasant area enhances Kenilworth and should remain.

I understand that one of the most pleasant walks in the area, to Rocky Lane, will be surrounded by concrete and brick.
Attractive areas such as this in the south of Kenilworth at a premium to destroy it is unthinkable.

Representation Summary:

Very concerned for mixed use housing and employment as it borders on the busy A46 and is therefore subject to considerable noise day and night. It would seem to be ill-suited to residential.
Noise is less important and easier to control within some commercial and light industrial premises and I would therefore support use of this site for such applications, particularly these which will not result in excessive vehicle movements affecting the existing residential areas to the northwest of the land.

Development would need direct access to the Thickthorn junction on the A46, avoiding any additional traffic on Glasshouse or Birches Lanes.
