Representation Summary:

-Regrettable that Cala Homes were allowed to make a presentation supporting their proposed Red Lane development at the same Parish Council Meeting where WDC VHOSBC was presented to the village for the first time.

-Whether by accident or design, this gave the impression that the village was being presented with a fait accompli with the Cala Homes site having already been chosen.

-The inclusion of the Cala Homes site as a preferred option; and 6 other sites 'discounted options' and 9 proposed sites not even mentioned, will inevitably introduce an unacceptable level of bias into the current consultation process.

It is extremely regrettable that Cala Homes were allowed to make a presentation in support of their proposed Red Lane development at the same Parish Council Meeting (18th November) at which the Warwick DC Local Plan (Village Housing Options and Settlement Boundaries Consultation) was presented to the village for the first time. Whether by accident or design, this gave the distinct impression that the village was being presented with a fait accompli with the Cala Homes site having already been chosen. I am not suggesting that Cala Homes were acting in collusion with the Parish Council and Warwick DC, but I am suggesting that allowing them to present at the Parish Council meeting gave that impression. Furthermore, the wording of the WDC document, with the Cala Homes site as the "preferred option" and 6 other sites as "discounted options" with a further 9 proposed sites not even worthy of mention, will inevitably introduce an unacceptable level of bias into the current consultation process.

The proposal to allow Cala Homes to make a presentation at Friday's meeting would further prejudice the outcome of the already deeply flawed consultation.
