Village Housing Options and Settlement Boundaries

Representation ID: 61177

Respondent: Mr Ken Lambert

Representation Summary:

-My main concern would be the poor access that is proposed, using the current main drive to the Police HQ. The access through the main gates (are these listed?) is narrow and the drive itself is barely wide enough to accommodate two cars passing each other.
-During development there would have to be access to the site for construction vehicles. Safety compromises are a concern with no footpath and the actual exit onto Woodcote Lane.
-With 70 dwellings (100+ cars?) using the drive on a regular basis I think the proposal is untenable.

I would seriously question the proposal to build up to 70 homes in the grounds of the old Police Headquarters. My main concern would be the poor access that is proposed, using the current main drive to the Police HQ. The access through the main gates (are these listed by the way?) is narrow and the drive itself is barely wide enough to accommodate two cars passing each other.
During development there would have to be access to the site for diggers, HGVs and other plant. With no footpath I would consider this to be a serious safety hazard. The actual exit onto Woodcote Lane is also another hazard where safety would be compromised.
With 70 dwellings (100+ cars?) using the drive on a regular basis I think the proposal is untenable.
