Village Housing Options and Settlement Boundaries

Respondent: Mr Jeffrey Sayer

Representation Summary:

Option 6 should be the preferred option and not option 1.

Full text:

Option 1 should not be the preferred option for the following reasons: the increased traffic in Arras Boulevard would lead to increased risk to pedestrians, especially children, making trips to the school, playing field, shops, hall and doctors; the houses built there cannot fail to negatively impact the southerly views from Arras Boulevard which are the most distant views available to residents in this part of Hampton Magna; the site is not as good as option 6.

Option 6 should be the preferred option because: traffic from the site can have its own access on to Old Budbrooke Road (I suggest a small roundabout where Damson Road meets the Old Budbrooke Road) which can be sized to meet the need; traffic to and from this site will not affect existing traffic and pedestrians in the village; residents of option 6 would have a much better experience than those of option 1 (they would have pleasant views from an elevated site and significantly less noise from A46); there would be no need for extra work to mitigate the effects of proximity of the A46 which would be necessary in the case of option 1; there would be less disturbance to existing villagers during the construction phase of option 6; there is room for easier further expansion should it be necessary.
