Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Local green spaces should be safeguarded. The councils should not be relying on the few adopted Neighbourhood Plans. It is their duty to allocate local Green Spaces for protection within their local plans and be proactive in regards to this important designation.

These Councils should not be relying on the few adopted Neighbourhood Plans. It is their duty to allocate Local Green Spaces for protection within their local plans and be proactive in regards to this important designation. Local Green Spaces are fundamental to the wellbeing and mental health of local populations, over and above the critical place they hold within the environment and its sustainability.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Whilst the broad purpose of the Policy Direction is supported, it is unconsidered unnecessary to carry forward Local Green Spaces already designated in Neighbourhood Plans as these are already established. With regard to any new Local Green Spaces, clear evidence should be provided that these meet the tests set out in NPPF Paragraph 107.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The protection of local open spaces would be strengthened if the setting and amenity of public footpaths were to be protected. Public footpaths are an essential part of the green and blue infrastructure and fulfil a key leisure and amenity role as linear open spaces available to the community

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This is again entirely aspirational twaddle. The mass sprawl of development and solar panels will destroy wildlife habitat on a grand scale. The focus on special sites and reserves is a hugely insular way of viewing our superb countryside and ignoring the benefits of agricultural land to both feeding the population and giving mental health relief.

A process is required for existing settlements to address existing shortfalls in local green spaces.
There appears to be no initiative to examine how the PRoW network might be developed to ‘open up’ the surrounding countryside.

There also needs to be a route or mechanism whereby new green spaces can be enabled in areas where the land is in private ownership. This could be through community involvement in Neighbourhood Plans.
