The area of separation is critical to maintaining the identity of the village. We identify our support for maintaining this in the very strongest possible terms. The commercial interests of developers have seen consistent and aggressive attempts to dilute this and the Plan is welcomed as a means to formally and unambiguously block all further attempts to remove the AOS.

The identity of our village is constantly being bombarded by housing applications from developers that do not respect the identity of our village. I am worried that without this clause the village will be joined with Leamington and lose it's identity as a village.

In order to retain the separate identity of Radford Semele, we consider it absolutely essential to have a strong Area Of Separation to prevent coalition with Leamington Spa and Whitnash. Any developments in this area would harm the landscape and erode the independence and setting of the village.

This is a fundamental part of the plan. Please refer particularly to paragraphs 3.6, 6.61 and 6.63. In the examination of the Local Plan it was recognised that there should not be further housing allocations and that it is important to retain this area of separation to avoid coalesence with Leamington and Whitnash. This policy is central to maintaining the integrity of the village. Further development in this area would also raise fundamental questions about the ability of the village infrastructure including roads and the school to cope with the additional pressure.

I believe it is really important for the sense of community for the area of separation to be in place. During lockdown, being part of a coherent community has been been critical for many people, and is likely to continue to do so, with community groups providing the best sense of "normality".

In order to keep our identity as a village we must remain separate from Leamington and Whitnash. The boundary must remain in my opinion and should not be compromised by future developments.

Strongly agree as it appears that slowly but surely our village will be subsumed by Leamington Spa losing all community, identity, landscape, nature etc.

Radford must remain a separate settlement as this is a key part of its village identity. The green spaces that surround the village are key to Radfords history and landscape. Merging with outlying areas will remove this and make the village identity redundant.

The area of separation is under constant attack from developers with very transparent motives that have nothing at all to do with the wellbeing and welfare of the village or its inhabitants. Further erosion of existing boundaries must be strongly resisted.

The Area of Seperation is a crucial gap between Radford Semele and its neighbouring towns. It provides Radford Semel its village identity which is highly regarded by the community. This cannot be allowed to errode.
The Policy only allows small developmenys (e.g 6 or less) which don't errode the gap and are needed by the community. Erosion by stealth is also unwanted. One of the higest wanted policies by the communty which I fully support.
This is a crucial policy and very much wanted by the community to retain its identity as a village. Although I understand a policy cannot stop development this area does provides a small space between Radford Semele and surrounding towns keeping Radford Semele's village identity. To loose this identity would be very harmful to the community. Consequently, whilst not stopping development any new development must be very small in nature and needed by the community. If minor or larger developements of say 6 or more were to be approved the gap would soon be erroded either through a single development or creapage.

We object to the proposed Area of Separation under draft Policy RS12 as it is considered that land immediately south of A C Lloyds’ residential development situated off Spring Lane should not be included within the proposed area of separation.
