Our village population is now so large that the small playing field is in danger of being overwhelmed. All these facilities should be protected: if anything, we need more such facilities. They are important to maintain the health and well-being of those who use them in increasing numbers.

It is vitally important to protect and develop the villages sport and recreation facilities. There is a risk to the village of unscrupulous local landowners selling more and more farmland to developers for large sums of money instead of supporting the community they claim to be part of and thereby denying developers the opportunity to build houses. The field directly in front of St Nicholas Church for instance could be gifted to the parish and re-developed and landscaped as a park for the local community.

I agree but please do not make playing fields sterile areas of lawn and tarmac. Sympathetic planting with trees and flowering shrubs will greatly enhance playing areas.

Recreation facilities are important to people health and well being. To date the village had only a small area to the rear of the community hall. With increase in population new housing has brought with it some small areas which are badly needed. These must be protected to give people walking space and room to breath. At the community events there was a high level of support to retain and enhance present sporting/recreation areas. For this reason this policy I support this policy.
