Suggestions for the type of employment we should encourage included, high technology industries, service sector jobs, tourism, biotechnology and professional and financial/business services.

There is already enough available land for the above industries. The Ford foundary closed - so the thought of providing land for factories or light industry does not reflect the current situation.
Use up the land you have before assigning any more.

There is already available employemnt land within the immediate area that has not been taken up, so why allocate more. Infrastructure needs improvement in an already congested area

Representation Summary:

Due to shortage of employment to the north of the district areas need to be allocated to the Kenilworth, North of Leamington and Warwick areas. These areas have relatively good access to the A46, A45/M45 and the M40. This would maximise use of existing infrastructure & mean less traffic having to go through Leamington & Warwick centres

Representation Summary:

No should be Kenilworth, Finham, Baginton Airport, North of Leamington/Warwick areas. This would reduce traffic in town centres and provide good access traffic from/to the A46, A45/M45 and the M40. There are already large areas of employment to the south of the district

Contrary to para 9.11 and 9.13 of Local Plan 1996-2011. The Council should follow the Govt policy restated in para 9.12.

This means protecting areas of restraint which 'preserve open wedges that separate particular elements of the urban form' eg the Europa way wedge which uniquely provides an open corridor between the south Leamington urban mass and south Warwick. It is part of a longer corridor which has historically separated the two towns and helped them to maintain their individual identities ie the Avon valley past Rock Mill, the Edmonscote meadows, the Grand Union and the farmland west of Europa Way.

This should be retained as a green gap between Warwick and Leamington. Housing and industrial development will gridlock Europa Way and the "Sainsbury" roundabout with serious implications for traffic on adjacent roads such as Myton Road and Princes Drive.

The is a traffic bottleneck area, peaktime traffic volumes could not be provided for. As with harbury lane pollution levels would increase significantly as this is already a major commuter route into warwick/leamington and beyond.

support - These sites are natural urban fringe locations; not in the Green Belt; : well located within the existing urban framework; compact and physically ideal for development; have a good relationship to the strategic road framework; are sufficiently close to the two main town centres and to more recently established communities facilities; will provide opportunity for the Planning and Highway Authorities to secure Planning Gain to provide a well co-ordinated comprehensive development scheme and to provide and enhance the local community and highway/pedestrian/cycleway and other infrastructure facilities and overcome existing problems in this part of the District.

Where are the plans for the infra structure - schools, services, allotments etc? Where will the current number of households (4,692) on waiting lists fit into this plan and where will they go if they can't afford what is built?

Use of this land directly contravenes WDC vision for 2026 which prioritised maintaining the characters and identities of the towns.

Infrastructure reasons - roads are already extremely congested.
