As a long term resident of Barford, I have witnessed it's unfortunate environmental decline due to unwanted housing developments, increased traffic and pressure on local amenities which have impacted greatly on its general infrastructure and village life.

To build even more houses in a village which is already over developed is unnecessary and would have a disproportionate effect on our school, roads and environment. We often have grid lock at peak periods and access to the bypass between 8.00 - 9.00 a.m and Leamington / Warwick would rival a London suburb for traffic congestion. This is the result of political short term planning without a thought or regard for the local community. Enough is enough. Planners have already spoilt our lovely village, please no more development in Barford. There are plenty of other areas which can absorb an increase in housing with little impact, Longbridge for example.

To add weight to my views, I would ask you to drive from Longbridge Island to Barford through the village to Warwick or Leamington at 8.15 a.m. / 8.45 a.m. or return journey between 5.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. Friday afternoon being the worst. Whilst you are in the village, check how many vehicles take absolutely no notice of the 30 mph speed warnings which light up when exceeding the limit. You will find around 50% of drivers take no notice and this is a road onto which WDC are proposing even more housing.

Our infrastructure and environment are now at breaking point. WDC are responsible for this, now act responsibly.
