Representation Summary:

It is heard that the outline planning consent is finally going to be given for up to 125 dwellings in the village, & most of these will be at the historic Police HQ Woodcote estate. Even for a moderate increase in traffic in Woodcote Lane, the well documented problems of the "Anchor Junction" and it's approach are completely & utterly insurmountable. Traffic lights have been discounted apparently, & the ridiculous suggestion of making the lane one way.

After years of local plans, meetings, impact studies, TPO's, reports, letters & nonsense as well, we hear rumours that outline planning consent is finally going to be given for up to 125 dwellings in the village, & most of these will be at the historic Police HQ Woodcote estate.

As reasonable residents, we would accept there has to be some sensible development at Woodcote, but this is not sensible.

However, our plea here is not as a NIMBY, but one of pure technical reality.

Even for a moderate increase in traffic in Woodcote Lane, the well documented problems of the "Anchor Junction" and it's approach are completely & utterly insurmountable. And we know you know this too. Traffic lights have been discounted apparently, & the ridiculous suggestion of making the lane one way just proves that you are all clutching at straws!

It is so blindingly obvious to anyone that there are other more suitable sites in the village to help fill the Government's quotas (see the suggestions in the original WDC Local Plan booklet Nov 2013, and no doubt more will appear when the green belt is lifted!) .... so if we didn't know better, it could all seem like some sort of Establishment ruse purely & simply to maximise the value of the HQ site!!
