The National Planning Policy Framework demands that exceptional circumstances must be demonstrated in order for land to be removed from the Green Belt. What are the exceptional circumstances for the removal of the land North of Milverton? None have been demonstrated.
It is also necessary that sites of lower Green Belt value be removed from the green belt first. This land is prime Green Belt: productive high value farm land, and highly important areas of wildlife habitat. WDC is unlawfully exceeding its authority by fulfilling another area's housing needs instead of representing the interests of those who live in the area.
