Representation Summary:

The proposal has not demonstrated that it is an exceptional circumstances with regards to the loss of green belt. It would severely damage the picturesque landscape, there are more sustainable sites closer to Coventry, people will not buy houses here to support Coventry overspill, loss of high grade and productive farmland and it does not have a sustainable infrastructure, which supports and connects our communities. Finally the development does not respect the topography and landscape of the area.

I do not believe that the local plan is consistent with national policy as set out in the NPPF. The local plan has not demonstrated exceptional circumstances as required by the NPPF to removing this area of green belt. This will also negatively impact on the natural landscape as you come into North Leamington, and it is a much used recreational area for the local community and we will lose valuable high grade farming land. I also consider that the scheme is not sustainable as it lacks adequate infrastructure as it will have a negative impact on the surrounding roads and local communities throughout Leamington. This type of ribbon development in my experience also causes confused and unsafe traffic conditions and an ugly countryside.
