Yes. As the LNRS is a statutory requirement this is non-negotiable. However, LNRS for the Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull is still in preparation. The next iteration of the draft of the plan should take account of the emerging strategy and ensure that its provisions are hard-wired into the plan. This draft policy direction should also build on the WDC Biodiversity Action Programme and the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust Strategy

The priority should be preserving and enhancing existing biodiversity and supporting it in areas it’s already shown to be thriving with existing wildlife corridors and well established habitats.

I agree with the draft policy regarding the Local Nature Recovery Strategy. However, I am concerned at the lack of detail contained within this policy about such an important issue, and believe this should be expanded upon further.
We need to enhance the biodiversity that already exists in South Warwickshire, and support it in areas where it's already shown to be thriving with existing wildlife corridors and well established habitats.

The policy says 'expected to support the principles' and this wording isn't strong enough. If the Councils intend to reach 30% of land dedicated to nature and in recovery by 2030, as stated in the Environment Act 2021, then more ambitious targets are needed. Need to be enhancing the biodiversity that already exists and supporting it in areas it's already shown to be thriving with existing wildlife corridors and well established habitats.

‘expected to support the principles’ gives an option to ignore the principles. Could the wording be amended to deliver an enforceable Policy?

Why only 30%. Green belt is currently teeming with wildlife which will have nowhere to go through the destruction of prime habitats. In the era where we are now aware of the impacts humanity has on the environment, we should seek to protect and enhance existing habitats. The plans proposed do not do that. Noise and light pollution will further frighten wildlife away from the area

Not sure how you are going to achieve it though as nature requires undisturbed space to recover ,and to thrive, and this plan is significantly reducing the amount of land available to support this policy
