This must be part of any building from the start, intense surveys carried out and plans for how any disruption to nature will be mitigated. This also needs to be inspected by the council and fines/legal action taken where housing companies do not fulfil there promises.

This policy challenges some of your growth areas like sg01 which covers a large area of green land and runs into the kenilworth to bale all common green way… the policy needs to more effectively applied to your plans please.

As the LNRS is a statutory requirement this is non-negotiable. However, LNRS for the Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull is still in preparation. The next iteration of the draft of the plan should take account of the emerging strategy and ensure that its provisions are hard-wired into the plan. This draft policy direction should also build on the WDC Biodiversity Action Programme and the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust Strategy

Again I find myself in complete agreement with the local Wildlife Trust. The policy says ‘expected to support the principles’ and this wording isn’t strong enough. If the Councils intend to reach 30% of land dedicated to nature and in recovery by 2030, as stated in the Environment Act 2021, then more ambitious targets are needed.

It should be enhancing the biodiversity that already exists and supporting it in areas it’s already shown to be thriving, with existing wildlife corridors and well-established habitats providing a strong foundation.
