The proposed development will require significant infrastructure improvements thereby changing the character of the local area. Traffic congestion is already a problem, local services will be stretched to accommodate the increased population. The loss of farmland and natural drainage will increase the severity / frequency of flooding in the village (an ongoing problem), this cannot be inflicted on the existing community. Developers will not pay for off-site infrastructure as it will reduce the profitability of the overall scheme with local ratepayers footing the bill ultimately. Existing residents have a right to expect that their quality of life will be protected.

Loss of identity of the village of Cubbington, first mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
Inadequate surface water drainage and sewer facilities and until provision for flooding is put in place the village cannot entertain more houses to exacerbate the issue.
The present infrastructure is unsuitable to support such a large building programme.
Lack of school places.
Effects on public rights of way.
Effects on wildlife.
It is green belt land.
