Do you agree that the Council has identified all reasonable options for the location of new employment land?
Representation ID: 33860
Received: 25/09/2009
Respondent: Lenco Investments

There is a need to identify further land for employment as there is a shortfall of some 18ha against draft RSS figures. There is also likely to be a requirement from Coventry City.
It is appropriate therefore to re-allocate the land south of Finham as a strategic hi-tech employment location and redistribute the housing elsewhere.

(iv) Land at Kings Hill, south of Green Lane, Finham
Representation ID: 33861
Received: 25/09/2009
Respondent: Lenco Investments
Agent: RPS Planning
Land south of Finham should be considered for office/hi-tech employment uses as opposed to mixed uses, as the area has good access to the strategic road network and would be attractive to future employers. New jobs would provide a better balance for existing residents in the area.
This would enable land south of Baginton to be developed for residential purposes which is already in an employment growth area.

Do you agree that the Council has identified all reasonable options for Rural Communities?
Representation ID: 33862

Developing at appropriate levels in a highly sustainable village location at Baginton provides the opportunity to develop a mix of housing to meet local needs, secure a high level of affordable housing and greatly assist funding and providing local infrastructure and facilities.
A spatial strategy which allows a proportionate level of housing/employment and local needs growth at such a location, alongside peripheral development around the main towns provides an optimum development strategy.

The Preferred Options ignores local opinion as the second most popular option for growth at Baginton has been ignored.
The Council should take a more proactive approach to housing allocations and not review the Core Strategy in the event that windfalls come forward at a faster rate.
The land south of Baginton should be allocated as development would be acceptable in the landscape, and with additional mitigation measures the presence of the sewage works would not preclude development. Development could also be located to avoid noise and air quality issues from the Airport. Minerals would also be excavated during development.
