We believe that all infrastructure should be in place before development takes place. For instance, in our village fibre is not provided to a large estate, an omission that is serious. There are questions about water security and sewage disposal and these should be addressed before development is considered. Transport needs to be considered and ensured that sufficient is in place. The use of roads such as the A429 and increased pressure brought to bare upon it need to be considered as a whole not just looking at each development by itself.

We believe that this is very important and does not happen sufficiently currently. Infrastructure should be in place before development. It is difficult to superimpose after development has occurred. In Wellesbourne for instance, we have had a 25% growth with no infrastructure provision. We have poor connectivity with no plans in place to improve it. We are not included in the provision of cycle lanes to improve movement and we have no safe route to school for the young people who live on our new estates and indeed any young people.

We are concerned about the number of houses identified and their type. We believe there is a greater need for Social/Rented housing than Affordable Social housing and that market housing should be family sized and mainly 3 bedroom. There does need to be an emphasis on Lifelong Housing. This doe not appear to be a strategy in market housing although social rented accommodation on the same development includes it. We are concerned that the majority of sites identified are not within existing urban boundaries and strongly support that they should be and not encroach on the green spaces around urban developments. We support the use of brownfield sites but not those not included in Neighbourhood Plans, these should be used to inform decisions. Sites should be in line with neighbourhood Plans and within boundaries.
