Visiors come to Warwick based on its historic past. The developments proposed are nothing to do with supporting visitor accommodation(!) If Warwick want visitors then mass development would be bad.

Existing visitor accommodation in the district and nearby must be given all possible support. In particular, 'regulation with a light touch' should become the norm for smaller establishments to avoid the burdens of bureaucracy becoming a significant cost in their operation.

But I am very disappointed that this is the only strategy being proposed.

But the reality is that it (the accommodation) will be provided if it is commercially viable and not if it isn't.

The preferred option does not have a clear policy on visitor accommodation, so one cannot agree or disagree with it.

excessive tourism has ruined - e.g. Oxford and Stratford, and brought residents no advantages. Do we want this here?

Gardens both in the parks, historical locations and private, are a source of great tourist attraction to the district we must maintain and encourage our residents to get involved and develop even more attractions for the tourists that involve gardening - the project for the Pump Room Gardens is a good example. A living, working allotment in one of the parks would be a good idea as an incentive for people to try

Although not directly related to tourism, the development will lead to a built up area spreading through Hinckley/ Coventry/Kenilworth, Warwick & Stratford, thus harming the tourist's perception of leafy Warwickshire.

The importance of historic assets to tourism is recognised; it would be helpful if the text were also to recognise that the ambience of the District's Historic Landscapes will be a significant factor in attracting visitors to the District.
Suggest that mention is made of Green Tourism as a major influence, with its association with Shakespeare plus aesthetic qualities of the Forest of Arden and Arden Parklands e.g. Warwick Castle Parklands and Warwickshire's leafy country lanes.

Tourism
The Parish Council don‟t believe that the Council has identified all the reasonable alternatives. With tourism being such an important part of the local economy and yet with significant untapped potential, The Parish Council is very concerned that the limit of the recommendations within the core strategy document is the proposal to protect tourist accommodation. To support tourism it is essential to keep and enhance the Warwickshire countryside. Although the historic parts are important, the rolling landscape is totally attractive including the way that it rolls up to the sharp change at urban boundaries. To allow Leamington to sprawl southwards and spoil views from Warwick Castle Towers will not enhance the visitor experience.
With respect to the Preferred Option, the Parish Council is disappointed that this is the only strategy being proposed.

When tourist ask you where are the shops meaning other than charity shops, what can you say in Warwick?
