I oppose the District Council's proposed modification (MM54) to include a search area for a North Leamington/Milverton Park & Ride scheme in the Green Belt bteween the Blackdown roundabout and Northumberland Road for the following reasons :
1. I was present in the Town Hall in October 2016 for the two full days of the Milverton examination. In answer to a question on Park & Ride schemes the representative of the WDC clearly stated that any Park & Ride scheme in Milverton would not be part of the new local plan.
In particular the land designated as H44 for housing was subsequently removed from the local plan and it defies logic for this same area now to be considered in the search area for Park & Ride.
2. Any Park & Ride scheme in Milverton would be of little practical use to commuters or to shoppers. Leamington is not Stratford, Oxford or Bath where Park & Rides are based on the absence of convenient parking in their respective cities/towns.
Leamington already has adequate parking.
