According to Councillor Jonathan Lander, at the Public Examination on 13 October Councillor Bill Gifford's presentation of objections to the Park and Ride scheme was interrupted by the Planning Inspector, who asked Dave Barber if WDC would be willing to remove the Park and Ride proposals from the Local Plan. Cr Lander recollects that Dave Barber agreed, and therefore the Examination quickly moved on to another topic. As a consequence of the Planning Inspector's intervention, proper consideration was not given to objections to the Park and Ride proposals at the Public Examination.
