The park and ride scheme seems to have 2 main flaws:
- no demand: having lived in the town 5 years I have never had to use one of the town centre multi-storey car parks and usually find free on street parking. If a park and ride system was going to be a success at peak times the residential roads in the north of the town would already be being used for parking by commuters.
- location: any park and ride car park would be better located near the A46 to reduce peak hours traffic on the A452
