Preferred Options Consultation - Land at Stratford Road, Warwick

Representation ID: 67478

Received: 10/12/2014

Respondent: Mrs Jan Oldfield

Representation Summary:

The proposed site can only be reached via a privately-owned, narrow, farm track which is subject to substantial drainage issues, is single carriageway and has no passing places. Pedestrian access would be dangerous.
The proposed site will sit directly adjacent to just three dwellings which will be swamped by its size.
Noise and air quality issues being located between the sewage works and motorway.
Designated land lies within Flood zones 2,3,3a and 3b.Risk to children of location next to a river.
Reaching the site from the main Stratford Road necessitates a dangerous right hand turn across oncoming traffic on a blind bend. Hard to imagine how caravans and unwieldy large mobile homes on trailers will be able to navigate the old Stratford Road.
One of last remaining green spaces on the drive into Warwick. It is arable land.
Impact on wildlife. Brown field sites are preferable to green field. Other sites, less disruptive to develop have been dismissed.
Gypsies and Travellers will not be able to afford the infrastructure required to make the site habitable.
Site not on previous shortlist. The first people knew was an announcement in the Courier.
Consultation document is vague and extra information failed to materialise.
