Representation ID: 64415

Respondent: Mr Graham Beard

Representation Summary:

Council should consider integrating traveller sites as part of the proposed new housing sites south of Leamington and Warwick. A small site could also be integrated within the proposal at Lillington. This would negate the need to put these sites in specially areas away from the rest of the towns and villages

I have made representation about the above sites that impact on me personally but has the Council considered, as possible alternatives, sympathetically integrating traveller sites into the proposed new house building program that is developing for Leamington, Warwick and Stratford upon Avon? The draft Local Plan aims to provide 12,900 new homes across the District by 2029, surely traveller sites can be integrated into these proposed developments? For instance, permission for 200 houses plus school and GP surgery etc has been give for an area south of Leamington and Warwick, a small traveller site could have been integrated into these plans. The 300 homes planned for Lillington could also have a small site sympathetically integrated into the development. This would negate the need to put these sites in specially areas away from the rest of the towns and villages.
