The Preferred Options document allocates the full requirement of 31 pitches without allowing for any sites in areas where new developments are planned. All of the proposed sites put strain on existing resources whereas if the sites are planned in conjunction with new developments the infrastructure for the Gypsy & Traveller sites can be provided alongside the requirements for the new developments. Integrating the Gypsy & Travellers designed into a new development must be easier than parachuting them into existing communities.
