Revised Development Strategy

Representation ID: 60003

Representation Summary:

It is difficult to understand where this national over-estimation of growth requirements has come from. Most recent Census data coupled with research from GL Hearn has put the figure at 6630. Bishops Tachbrook identified its own local need as 14 homes, far fewer than the 100-150 specified in the RDS.Of the proposed number of 4550 new houses to be built south of Leamington and Warwick a huge concentration of 2000 are planned south of Harbury Lane and a further 100 on Myton Gardens (an Area of Restraint). The proposals are not supported by the public, cross boundary needs have not been assessed and the intended development at Lighthorne Heath wil put further strain on local services. The impact of the new houses will put strain on the trafic/ highway network as well as schools and police services/ functions. The development will cause a loss of quality agricultural land. The proposed Country Park is an irrelevance that will do nothing to ease local opposition / concerns. The land being proposed for development should also be defended in line with the outcomes of the Richard Morrish Landscape Assessment.
