The Station Approach area is currently used as a surface car park, that is well usesd (indicative of the need for this car parking provision).This is particularly important as the Station's own car park (south of the station is totally inadequate).
The car park is valuable and therefore should not be used for a housing development, particularly as the nearest other alternative car park is St Peters which is some distance and not open 24/7.
