The drive for growth on this scale requires inevitably huge infrastructure improvements. We just don't want this amount of destruction of our town.
Reconstruction of roads, bridges etc to double the width, to conduct larger numbers of cars about will destroy the county town and its peaceful environment.
5.1.1.27 Local people neither want or need an additional 12,300 homes. It is a complete misinterpretation of statistics. It is not necessary to have this level of growth at all.
