Representation Summary:

Old Milverton is classified alongside much larger villages and should be considered in the classification 'Very small Villages and Hamlets' to ensure that future developments within it's boundary are proportionate to it's character and prevent unnecessary attrition of the important greenbelt in that area.

Full text:

Old Milverton should be included in the classification 'very small villages and hamlets' not 'small and feeder villages'. It is no larger in population and would be affected far more significantly than other villages in it's current classifications. I find it improbable that it is considered in a different category to Blackdown, Ashow and beausale for example. It's proximity to the main town of leamington should not be used as an excuse to further erode green-belt in the future by changing definition through a back-door method. It's services and employment size are of a similar size to these and any ill-considered expansion outside of the curtain of the current village boundary on greenfield sites would be an underhand erosion of important greenbelt. This rural buffer helps define leamington and separate it from Kenilworth Coventry and the larger West Midlands Connurbation and should not be slyly eroded by a method of attrition. I support the general principles of development in these wider classifications of villages but I object to the classification of old Milverton as a 'feeder' village which suggests it is capable of supporting a heavier burden of development than it actually is.
