Representation Summary:

The Health and Wellbeing Board should be considered/consulted in the early stages of planning any major development that will have an impact on the health infrastructure's ability to serve the local population.
Planning policy should systematically consider health and wellbeing as a matter of course. Would urge WDC to create environments to enable maximum opportunity for healthy living and reduce opportunities for unhealthy behaviour. E.g. increasing opportunities for walking, cycling, adequate lighting, green spaces and safe environments for children to play in. Whilst also creating an environment which is non obesogenic by presenting fewer opportunities for engaging in unhealthy behaviours.
Aligns with Public health indicators 'improving the wider determinants of health' and 'health improvement' and NICE guidance 'Four commonly used methods to increase physical activity (PH2)' and 'Prevention of cardiovascular disease (PH25)' and 'Physical activity and the environment (PH8)
Mental wellbeing and older people (PH16)' and 'Preventing type 2 diabetes - population and community interventions (PH35)' 'Promoting physical activity for children and young people (PH17)'.
