Although I am in favor of more cycle ways throughout the county, I am very disturbed at the thought of one going right across the middle of Kenilworth Abbey Fields. It is illegal at present to ride a bicycle there and the reason is obvious. Abbey Fields was planned to be a safe relaxing place away from the noise and bustle of the town.

It is young children's safety I am particularly concerned about - how can you guarantee they won't run onto the cycle way and get knocked over. Is there any way the cycle way could be fenced off? The route on the map seems to show it going close by the children's play area, the swimming pool and the lake - all heavily populated areas of the park.

Lots more consultation needs to be given to this idea.
