Representation Summary:

Gypsy and Traveller sites should be kept away from established housing areas to avoid friction
Failure to do this could result in unnecessary problems

Full text:

These sites, if approved, should be kept well away from existing established housing areas, in order to avoid friction and civil disobedience which can develope due to differing lifestiles and perceptions of what is right and wrong between existing home owners and Gypsies / Travellers. Failure to recognise this by the planning authority could result in unnecessary problems and confrontations, which I am sure that the council would be very keen to avoid being given credit for. It should be born in mind that providing authorised sites does not guarentee that there will not be intrusion on private land as our current laws are far to lax when it comes to eviction.
