Representation Summary:

The potential negative impact on Warwick Gates of having a proposed designated site.

Full text:

I think that the location of any potential site is paramount. I do not think that a designated site will be a good idea next to existing residents/built up areas, who (using past experiences of the same) are likely to suffer rubbish dumping and general untidyness, which in turn could potentially de-value their own properties and make their surrounding areas suffer.

My second objection comes from the fact that by their very definition they are "travelling" people...do we want and/or need to spoil our countryside with a site which may not be used to its full potential? Would they actually use such a site?

Also the location of any site should not make any existing residents feel uncomfortable and/or unsafe - which I know have been issues in the past for Warwick Gates residents when gypsies and travellers arrive. What is the Council going to do to prevent this from happening and to re-assure the community?

Are we the taxpayers going to have to pay to keep any designated area tidy?
Will they be paying any council tax and/or any other tax to afford them the luxury of living in such beautiful Warwickshire countryside?

As you quote "they have the same rights and responsibilities as every other citizen". Whilst I do not disagree with this statement surely this must mean that they respect the community that they will be living in, which includes but is not limited to keeping surrounding areas clean and tidy, and thinking of ways of contributing to our society.
