Respondent: Melanie Dickenson

Representation Summary:

This is an objection to any development to the south and west of Radford Semele due to the following reasons:
1. Flooding of these areas has been observed due water flowing down into the valley. Buildings on these areas will inevitably become flooded and will exacerbate the existing flooding issue.
2. Road safety is a problem. Existing roads internal to the village are too narrow to accommodate existing traffic and do not support the emergency service vehicles.
3. Preservation of the village envelope.

This is an objection to any development to the south and west of Radford Semele due to the following reasons:
1. Flooding of these areas has been observed due water flowing down into the valley (hence the road names). Buildings on these areas will inevitably become flooded and will exacerbate the existing flooding issue.
2. Road safety is a problem. Existing roads internal to the village are too narrow to accommodate existing traffic and do not support the emergency service vehicles.
3. Preservation of the village envelope. Radford Semele is renowned for its strong sense of community. Further housing will result in a conurbation thus dimishing the community spirit.
4. Infrastructure. The local primary school is at capacity. We have seen that more housing has not resulted in more schools (per Warwick Gates), where is the population going to be educated? Water pressure is already poor and the sewerage system is inadequate.
