I cannot see how the development proposed for Blackdown can have 40% affordable housing. The rates are extremely high in Leicester Lane, and young people cannot even afford houses in poor areas of town. Developers will want to keep their profits and banks are unlikely to lend to housing associations because of the problems aring from the sub-prime market.
