In order to be consistent with SG13, AML recommends “Draft policy 14 (Major Investment Sites (MIS)” MIS.1 - Gaydon – JLR/AML final sentence is amended to read as follows:
The existing Aston Martin Lagonda (AML) 4.5ha. allocation in the adopted SDC Core Strategy will be retained within the SWLP and expanded, subject to further discussion with AML on their future plans for the site.
AML also supports the release of the existing “100 ha. JLR restricted allocation” to the wider market for manufacturing and small-scale logistics. Some of this land may be suitable for AML manufacturing.

It is Rainier’s strong view that other potential locations outside of MIS, but within the Core Opportunity Area, need to be considered with additional allocations made within Warwick to ensure needs are satisfied in full. Only focussing new employment development at MIS would fail to recognise market signals, which show demand for employment land and floorspace outside of these locations.

MIS. 1 appears elsewhere as SG13 for which comment has already been provided as follows:
The increase in the size of JLR land (currently used as a test track) would lead to access requirements from Lighthorne Road. This would be totally inappropriate given the road network within the centre of Kineton to the south, which cannot be altered. To the north the junction with The Fosseway is a location with frequent vehicle accidents and significant highway reconfiguration would be required. The Lighthorne Road is also narrow and, again, would require major widening

Locate the developments next to the investment sites - for obvious environmental reasons. Unless you are planning to build cycle route to these locations from the Bearly proposal!! In these instances, I you truly believe these investment sites will create many jobs, NONE of these are conveniently served by Wilmcote or Bearly rail stations, so all you are doing is adding further pressure to the road infrastructure and congestion and gridlock in surround villages as drivers with inevitably look for rat runs to the M40.

JLR / AML proposal will cause major problems :
Lighthorne Road will need major widening, which is not possible in Kineton. Fosse Way additional traffic undesirable on road with high accident record.
Potential loss of bridleways & footpaths around fields in question.
Serious adverse effect on wildlife, & significant bat habitat, amongst others. Loss of food production.
Risk of polluted water run off from hard surfaces into adjoining lakes & watercourses.
Adverse impact on residents of Nancherrow
