Riverside House

Representation ID: 54374

Received: 29/07/2013

Respondent: WAYC

Representation Summary:

The Current Council offices are in one place which seems sensible, plus it has adequate parking- what is the argument for changing this - ie where would the Council be housed so its all in one place again. If the plan is to move them into separate offices then why not convert those into houses. If the premises are too large then why not sub rent some of it to voluntary sector organisations?

5.1.13 Infrastructure Requirements

Representation ID: 54378

Received: 29/07/2013

Respondent: WAYC

Representation Summary:

Infrastructure
It is important that the infrastructure is put in place first eg the schools and Community centres and the roads and shops. Based on past experience at Warwick Gates it would be helpful to have an endowment fund for running the Community Centre as many of them cannot pay their own way

Representation Summary:

Has Campion school agreed to this plan which could cause problems of speeding traffic and children going to school.
Also what is to happen with the railway crossing at the end of Church Lane. This would appear to be a natural way in and out of this new estate but the bridge would need to be redesigned and Church Lane itself would be unsuitable - so it would need to be pedestrian / bycycle access only

Representation Summary:

Affordability - can this be increased to 50% affordability
Also Lifetime Homes - can this be increased to 40%
There appears to be no mention throughout the document of Sustainable homes and it would be great to build all the new homes with solar panels, ground source heat pumps, insulated walls, roof spaces and double glazed throughout as a pre condition of any houses being built under this plan

5.2.6 Infrastructure Requirements

Representation ID: 54385

Received: 29/07/2013

Respondent: WAYC

Representation Summary:

It is important to ensure that any infrastructure such as schools, shops, community centres etc are in place before the houses are actually built so that a community can be built.
There appear to be no mention of centres of worship or of Youth provision. If community Centres are built then they need to be given an endowment fund to support their continued running costs.

Representation Summary:

What consideration has been given to Church Lane Whitnash. If a new estate is built on the other side of the railway line then there are potential issues with the children and speeding cars around Campion. Also the railway bridge at the bottom of Church lane would become a rat run if it is not closed off to cars and have just pedestrian and bicycle access.
