Clarification is required on the proposals to re-draw the boundaries for Rowington i.e. the
area(s) to be taken out of the Green Belt. "Rowington" as referred to under PO16 Green Belt and PO4 Distributionof Sites for Housing, stretches from the edge of Lapworth to the edge of Shrewley, including Rowington Green, Turners End, Mousley End etc. Further detail required prior to an informed response being possible. The Parish Council cannot properly respond until this information is to hand.

Rowington Parish Council is not opposed to small scale development provided that development:
1. Is spread throughout the parish
2. In keeping with the rural area street scene in terms of character and design. Considered a very important aspect of any potential development.
3. Considers the findings of the Parish Plan and forthcoming Parish Design Statement. The Parish Council is aware that there is a great need for smaller properties for those wishing to downsize and young people wishing to live in the parish
4. Is subject to detailed consultation with the Parish Council
5. Important to ensure that the necessary infrastructure is available

Extremely important to ensure that no development takes place on the flood zones within the parish and all new development is designed to minimize flood risk. Unauthorised development is currently underway within the parish in a Flood Zone 3 location, and such potential impact on life and property should and can be avoided through stricter planning and management controls

Support a lower level of growth in some smaller villages to meet local need, on the basis that any proposed development is in accord with the Parish Plan and Parish Design Statement i.e. development based on local need only.
