Do you agree with the approach laid out in Draft Policy Direction 6- Safeguarding land for transport proposals?

Representation ID: 89316

Received: 20/02/2025

Respondent: Stratford Greenway Group

Representation Summary:

It is a waste of time and resources safeguarding the land along the Stratford Greenway for possible future use as a railway from Honeybourne, past Long Marston to Stratford, then across town via Severn Meadows Road and Summerton Way, to Stratford Town Station. The proposal will never be economically viable, and safeguarding just creates confusion and uncertainty. The Greenway should be kept as a multi-use recreational facility, green space and wildlife haven for the benefit of locals, visitors and future generations. It cannot be effectively shared with a reinstated railway, which would cause major traffic problems and damage the environment.
