The nature reserve to to the south east of Stratford upon Avon by Trinity Mead should not be developed. It is used a lot by residents from across the town. There are plenty of other areas - I.e farmers fields that could be developed around the outskirts of the town. Pls leave the nature reserve alone

Allocating new housing sites to the south of Stratford can only be sustainable with a realistic prospect of additional road capacity crossing the river Avon being delivered in the plan period. It is now a fact that the cost of providing new cross-river road capacity exceeds any feasible economic contribution from developers so funding such a scheme seems most unlikely. In these circumstances the case for including SG19 as an option is weak and a decision to retain it in the confirmed draft would damages the Plan's credibility.

This would cause extreme congestion in the town and particularly for movement from south to north of the River Avon. The traffic is already a nightmare and more people travelling north for work, school or shopping would exacerbate this. The land between Trinity Mead and Waitrose is used by many people at present and should be left without building upon it as was originally designated. It would double the number of houses south of the river and the infrastructure, schools ,doctors etc are already overwhelmed.

But - build the road infrastructure first or at the same time.
Do not build the houses and then think about improvement to the road network and ways of funding it.
The A4390 (trinity Way) was built by the housing developer who built the Trinity Mead development, as part of the housing development contract.
This could be a way forward for the funding of the road building.

There has been recent developments south of the river in Stratford, with no modifications or improvements in transport. Without creating better infrastructure and facilities south of the river, it would be disastrous to create any more housing. There are much more suitable sites for development. The number of houses proposed is vast and would change Stratford from an already overcrowded market town and valuable tourist attraction, to a sprawling grid locked featureless place.

The road infrastructure through and around Stratford centre / bridge already can not cope with the level of traffic and this will only add further to the chaos and difficulties local residents and visitors will have to experience.
It is currently unsustainable in highways terms and is already at capacity.
The suggestion of the western relief road to assist with this has already had two Highways funding rejections and is too costly to deliver. We should not allocate sites on the expectation or assumption that these large scale projects will happen. There are other suitable locations for homes to go.

I was very much involved in a campaign to try and remove this area from the shortlist about 18 months ago. I spent many hours with others arguing the case, working with local councillors and leafletting to protest in order to try and persuade the planning team that this was a very bad idea. It appears it has nevertheless appeared on the plans, so that all that work, representation and views were not heeded. The arguments about traffic density etc. etc. all remain. Nothing has changed so my resistance to this plan also remains very strong.

I accept some houses may be built within the SW19 area.
However to build any more houses in SW19 it is essential that the infrastructure in Stratford Upon Avon is improved BEFORE house construction commences. Particularly the existing bridge in the centre of the town needs to be improved making movement between both sides of the river easier. It is currently constantly far too congested.
Additionally the area between the Loxley Road and Stratford Town Football Club has been designated as a strategic gap preserving the distinction between Stratford and Tiddington - no houses should be constructed in this location.

The proposals of SG19 put a huge amount of pressure on Stratford on Avon. It would add significantly to the congestion already experienced. As an increased population has to move through Stratford on their way to work, school etc.

It seems for more appropriate to consider "New Settlements" rather than blocks of additional housing around Tiddington and Alveston. New Settlements would provide more of a community approach with appropriate schools, GP surgeries, community centres, dedicated public transport as part of the developments.

The village of Tiddington has retained a separate identity from Stratford upon Avon
through the establishment of a ‘strategic gap’ of un-developed land, which SDC has
taken into consideration when assessing planning applications. I requests that
this distinction continues to apply and that the South Warwickshire Plan makes
specific reference to it. If there is to be more housing in this area then another bridge, school, doctors and road will have to be created due to the B4086 being incapable of extra traffic and no rail link...
