SG15 North of Wellesbourne: Wellesbourne has already expanded beyond its natural boundaries. What was a village has already grown beyond its natural extent. It is car-dependent with some but not much public transport. SG15 includes very large areas of countryside north of Wellesbourne on both sides of the A429. This would take much BMV agricultural land, against planning policy. It would generate large traffic flows on what is already a busy road, with consequences of delays and reduced road safety. SG15 should not be proceeded with. Small infill sites within Wellesbourne can deliver social housing to meet local need.

SG15- North of Wellesbourne Site My main concern is the additional traffic on the A429 between the Longbridge roundabout and Wellesbourne. The junctions from Wasperton, Barford and Sherbourne villages to this road are extremely dangerous especially at peak times and the traffic generated by development at this site will only exacerbate this situation. Significant improvements/changes to these junctions must be made BEFORE the site is developed. This is required to satisfy Strategic Objective 3: "Providing infrastructure in the right place at the right time".

Wellesbourne is another village that has been transformed into a huge dormitory for commuters in recent years. To further exacerbate the ruination of the character of the village by yet more housing for people who will have to commute to work by car is inconsistent with the SWLP's aspiration to make South Warwickshire more beautiful with improved biodiversity. Houses need to be built close to where people can work (in or very near the larger towns and conurbations), not encouraging people to commute long distance on already overcrowded and poorly maintained roads. The country towns and villages must be preserved.

The village has a strong community which is in danger of being lost with the proposed expansion.
Building will have a detrimental impact on the flood risk to the village.
There is not the infrastructure to support further expansion of the village. The only transport network are the roads which are already heavily congested and will not be able to support the extra traffic that will come with further development. Additionally this will impact on air pollution.

This proposal will completely alter the rural nature of villages like Charlecote, Hampton Lucy and Wellesbourne. Shakespeare's green and leafy Warwickshire will be gone forever. The current use of much of the North Wellesbourne land for farming, soil, crop research and related education and training by the University of Warwick should be prioritised as a centre of excellence, vital for guiding national and local food security in the context of climate change. There should be no further change of use away from these essential agriculture and horticulture assets and capabilities instead of more housing, industry and associated transport.

I live in Wasperton and already the A429 has very heavy traffic during rush hours, making it very difficult and often unsafe to turn in and out of the village (particularly towards Wellesbourne) during rush hours.
The A429 cannot cope with increased traffic and getting in and out of Wasperton would be impossible.
Furthermore, the impact on the local environment of Charlecote/ Wasperton with such a huge development so close by would be catastrophic. The loss of green space around Charlecote national trust would be detrimental to preserving the natural landscape and beauty of the area.
