Representation Summary:

The Plan is not justified due to the lack of opportunity to enable Wasperton village to function as a Limited Infill Village. Although the policy theme of the RDS is carried through into the Publication Draft Plan, the Infill Village Boundary for Wasperton is drawn so tightly around the existing built development that there appear to be no opportunities for the policy to be implemented.

Full text:

Wasperton is defined in the Plan as a Limited Infill Village where limited infill development will help to deliver a wider choice of housing and help to support services in any nearby Growth Village, in this case Barford. In the Revised Development Strategy Wasperton was included, at Table 3, in the list of Smaller and Feeder Villages. The District Council recognised that supporting only the larger, more sustainable locations across the district, risked ignoring the housing needs of other areas and the importance of their often dispersed local services and facilities.

Although the policy theme of the RDS is carried through into the Publication Draft Plan, the Infill Village Boundary for Wasperton is drawn so tightly around the existing built development that there appear to be no opportunities for the policy to be implemented.
