We need to preserve the wildlife that we have. Destroying the hedgerows will lead to less insects, birds, wildlife unbalancing the ecosystem in an extremely negative way. In SG20 Little Haven monitors moths which are in great supply. Do we really want to drive species to extinction that are currently being preserved by Warwickshire County Council under their Local Biodiversity Action Plan?

This sounds like a recipe for uncontrolled development in open countryside. The rules here need to be tight and enforced.

We need food from our agriculutral land not more solar farms and further housing development.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I agree with Draft Policy Direction 18, but with a focus on ensuring sustainability and local community benefits. Supporting rural employment and diversification is vital for thriving rural communities, but development should be carefully scaled to the rural setting and sensitive to the character of the landscape. Policies must prioritise sustainable transport options and minimise environmental impact. Agricultural diversification schemes should be encouraged but with clear guidelines to ensure they meet local needs and contribute to sustainable rural economies. Any new development should avoid over-reliance on car travel and be well-integrated into existing rural infrastructure.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

However, it is instructive to note that over half of the residents of South Warwickshire live outside urban areas and many of them travel to and from such areas to work. This will also be the position in relation to new residents at Meon Vale and at Marston Airfield if significant developments occur there, in the absence of adequate employment infrastructure provision in the immediate locality. That is why large settlements should be located close to existing urban centres with suitable road and other transport infrastructure, and not simply developed from nothing in unsuitable rural locations.

Ymatebydd: Bishop's Tachbrook Parish Council

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Bishop’s Tachbrook Parish Council supports small-scale rural employment development, including converting redundant agricultural buildings, but seeks clearer policy guidelines. It assumes policies will apply only outside settlement boundaries and Strategic Growth Areas. The Council finds "scale appropriate to location" too vague and proposes specific limits: buildings up to 500m² within 1,500m² compounds, with exceptions for sites near settlements. Agricultural buildings could be replaced or converted within the same footprint. Additionally, the Council suggests limits on external ancillary space, such as capping overall site area at three times the building footprint, to ensure appropriate rural development.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I support this policy especially as it should provide local food growing and thereby food security in forthcoming climate challenges. There is need for more 'local community' carbon capture tree planting which will require tree planting, irrigation and arboreal management for a very long period of time or until emissions are reversed.
