I support the Council's strategy to safeguard aviation at Wellesbourne in line with AS.9. In my view it is vital to preserve this precious, vibrant community of businesses, visitors and aviation enthusiasts, especially with the closure of Coventry Airport. How are we going to inspire and enthuse future generations to pursue careers in aviations for the benefit of the country? I consider the plans recently presented by Gladman fall well short of what would be acceptable for safe, viable continued development of the airfield.
