I support the safeguarding of the aviation functions of the former wartime aerodrome of Wellesbourne Mountford in-line with existing Area Policy AS.9 in the adopted Stratford-on-Avon District Core Strategy. The aerodrome must be retained and developed as a fully functioning General Aviation aerodrome forming an important part of the national infrastructure of aerodromes within the United Kingdom and continuing to provide the necessary training and development of future pilots in the UK. In addition, non-aviation related development should not be allowed to constrain the various aviation functions.
