I disagree with this policy because carbon sequestration is not a genuine solution to rising emissions. Rather than offsetting pollution, efforts should focus on reducing it at the source. The most effective way to achieve this is by investing in public transport, including new railway stations that serve more local areas. Expanding sustainable transport options will decrease car dependency and directly cut emissions, making a greater impact than unreliable carbon capture methods. A true commitment to lowering emissions must prioritize practical solutions like better public transit, not just theoretical offsets.
