For Stratford, the Plan's Vision takes only a human-centred stance., without reference to Nature (healthy soil, water, air and biodiversity) on which those communities will depend.
Strategic Objective 1: Continues to perpetuate continual economic growth making no reference to move towards systems of degrowth and circular economics as argued by Oxford economist Kate Raworth and others as essential components of sustainable living. This approach has been adopted by other Councils (Essex County Co, Coventry City Co).
Strategic Objectives are siloed, without integrated systems thinking evident. Everything is connected so actions in one strategic objective may undermine another.
